Dr. Fullerton completed his undergraduate work in Biology at the College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, VA) and graduated with honors in 1980.

He received his Medical Degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial/VA Hospitals (Miami, FL) in 1985.

He completed his Medical Internship and Medical Residency at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital (currently known as California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, CA). He was awarded "Resident of the Year."

During his tenure at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Fullerton served as Chief Medical Resident in 1988. He is also published in the medical text.

He served as a Medical Teaching, Attending and Vice Chief (and Acting Chief) of Medicine in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from 1989-91. He was a medical consultant to members of the Royal Family (including a past Minister of Health).

Dr. Fullerton is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and in Geriatrics. He maintains active medical licenses in both California and Florida. He is also Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and holds national certificates of added qualifications as a Certified Medical Director (CMD) at multiple levels of care locally and in Home Care (AAHCP).

In January of 2010, Dr. Fullerton was nominated to be a Fellow with the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Additionally, he is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine (ABAM) and in 2011 was among a small number of addiction specialists chosen to sit for the Boards sponsored by the American Academy of Medical Review Officers - (AAMRO) and received his MRO certification from the Medical Review Officers Certification Counsel (MROCC).

Dr. Fullerton is the Certified Medical Director for Aegis of Corte Madera where he focuses on geriatric care and preventative medicine for both the Assisted Living and the Alzheimer's Disease (Life's Neighborhood) units.

He has many years of clinical and teaching experience in internal medicine and geriatrics. He was previously co-founder and manager of an early "hospitalist" physician group in San Francisco, CA. He is credited with inventing the hospitalist business (and clinical) methods of care; submitting the first method patent for hospitalist care-"The Sub-Acute Solution: A Method for Hospital-Based Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Medical Care and Training"-c in 12/93.

He organized geriatric wards and assisted in teaching Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, as well as Hospice & Palliative Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco) and UCSF.

Dr. Fullerton is on the clinical faculty of UCSF, Stanford, USC and Yale University Medical School(s) in their respective Department(s) of Medicine; he (and his Physician Assistant wife-Kate McElroy Fullerton, PA-C) are clinical instructors for medical students and residents at the San Francisco Free Clinic (an affiliate of UCSF and Yale Medical Schools).

Dr. Fullerton is a clinical preceptor and geriatrics lecturer for the Stanford Primary Care Associates Program, whose PA-students rotate through his on-site office as a designated Stanford University Medical School geriatric training site at Aegis of Corte Madera, as do the students of the Physician Assistant Program from Samuel Merrritt University.

He was named the Director of Geriatric Training for the Internal Medicine Residents at St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC-SF) where medical residents rotate, utilizing the Aegis of Corte Madera medical office site as core geriatric teaching site for their month-long rotation with Dr. Fullerton. He has served on two hospital-based ethics committees (with an emphasis on geriatrics, long-term care, and medical directorship).

December 14th, 1994 is "Dr. John Fullerton Day in San Francisco". Mayor Frank Jordon awarded Dr. Fullerton this proclamation for: "His large body of hospital-based work," teaching and caring for the SF urban under-served; his focus was devoted to caring for geriatric patients, acute rehabilitation patients, organ transplant patients, hospice and palliative care of the terminally ill, and patients with HIV/AIDS; and for "giving them improved quality of life, and when possible, a realistic hope for an independent future."

Awarded the International Organizational Heroes Award from the Berkeley School of Public Health (along with the other key providers and volunteers at the SFFC).

Congressional Award (NRCC)-"2003 California Physician of the Year".

Consumer Reports Award for: "Best Doctor in America" (2007 & 2008 Editions).

Active in the American Medical Association (AMA), American Geriatrics Society (AGS) (where he sits on the Elder Abuse Prevention Task Force), California Medical Association (CMA), Marin Medical Society, Certified by the American Medical Director's Association (AMDA), American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), American Academy of Home Care Physicians (AAHCP), American College of Physicians (ACP-Fellow), San Francisco Medical Society (SFMS); Dr. Fullerton proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Long Term Care (CALTCM), where he is also Chair of the Legislative Sub-Committee and Member of the Policy and Professional Services Committee, amongst others.

Medical Staff Privileges at Marin General Hospital (MGH-Greenbrae) where he is an active member of the Laboratory Liaison Committee and typically utilizes and communicates frequently with the ER and/or the hospitalists. Also a life-time member of the Association of Clinical Faculty (ACF) at UCSF, key clinical faculty at St. Mary's Medical Center (and their hospital-based: Sister Mary Philippa Health Care Center), with additional Active Medical Staff Privileges as Director of Geriatric Training at St. Mary's Hospital (SF, CA).

Kate McElroy Fullerton, PA-C is co-founder of Hampton Health, Ltd. She is a certified physician assistant who specializes in family medicine and geriatrics and received her certification from Stanford University in 2001. She is the Clinical Director for Hampton Health as well as the Secretary.

Along with her duties at Hampton Health, Kate serves as a preceptor for physician assistant students from Stanford, St. Francis and Samuel Merritt Universities.

She is currently in training to become a Certified Diabetic Educator and a Health Coach through Harvard Medical School. She has a passion for the prevention of osteoporosis and serves as a volunteer speaker with FORE (Foundation for Osteoporosis Research and Education).

Kate believes in standing true to the mission statement from Stanford of “serving the underserved” by working two days a week for the San Francisco Free Clinic which provides medical care for the urban uninsured and underserved .

In her recent past she has worked providing clinical care and screening as PA with former prostitutes through SAGE (Standing Against Global Exploitation). She has also served as a Detention and a Eucharist minister, as well as working for Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity, setting up health camps in Nepal with the Health Minister, the Red Cross after the Loma Prieta earthquake in Oakland and again with the Red Cross for post-hurricane Katrina in Baton Rouge.

Kate has won many awards but is most proud of being honored at the State Capital for placing first in the All California Academic Team and a nominee for the All USA Academic Team.

In August 2010 the business method patent: "Method of Delivery of Care for Assisted Living Facilities" co-authored by Dr. Fullerton and Kate McElroy Fullerton was credited with making the "Top 100 Most Inventive List" via the Hampton Health Intellectual Property: Physician Assisted Living Solutions (PALS™).

Having broken new ground with the Clinical Forensics Division of Hampton Health, Ltd. with Dr. John Fullerton as its division head, Kate McElroy Fullerton began performing the duties of a Physician Assistant Medical Expert in November 2011.

Additionally, Kate McElroy holds a Certificate in Advanced Wound Debridement.

Dr. Theresa Kemnitz completed both her Internal Medicine Residency and Assisted Living Geriatric curricula at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco under the direction and mentorship of Dr. John H. Fullerton, Education Director of Geriatric Medicine and Founder of Hampton Health, Ltd.

Dr. Kemnitz is the Primary Care & Associate Medical Director for Hampton Health and was chosen by Dr. Fullerton (along with her particular emphasis on preventative medicine and humanitarian care and training) to be eminently qualified to serve as the On-Site Visiting Physician to The Stratford at Countrywood, a premier Assisted Living community in Lafayette, CA and to Harmony House which provides specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care in San Rafael, CA.

On behalf of Hampton Health, Ltd. Dr. Kemnitz provides primary care and long term care medicine to some of the finest long term care facilities in San Francisco and Marin including Country Villa Novato and Country Villa San Rafael. She also serves as a preceptor for St. Mary’s Medical Center medical residents rotating in geriatrics and physician assistant students (PA-S) from the Primary Care Associate programs from both Stanford and Samuel Merritt Universities.

Dr. Kemnitz graduated from Touro University Medical School with a sub-specialty in the musculoskeletal system designed to address the needs of preventative and holistic medicine. Having provided long term care nursing at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN she received her RN degree from St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul. In addition, Dr. Kemnitz holds a Certificate in Advanced Wound Debridement.

Her expertise in the field of long term care began with a degree in Physical Education and Sports Medicine from The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, working as an After-Care Coordinator helping bridge physical therapy to mainstream maintenance programs.

Dr. Kemnitz had always wanted to provide daily, on-going care to people and her local community, but it was her work with specialists at Abbott Northwestern Hospital that inspired her to become a physician which has given her the opportunity to provide care to her patients and her community on an even deeper level.

Dr. Colin Hamblin serves as the Hampton Health On-Site Visiting Physician to Villa Capri at Varenna, a premier Assisted Living community in Santa Rosa, CA in addition to performing the duties of a medical expert through the Hampton Health Clinical Forensics Division.

Dr. Hamblin is Board Certified in Family Practice Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine and is additionally certified as a Buprenorphine (Suboxone) specialist.

Dr. Hamblin received his BA in Social Science from the University of California at Berkeley and his Masters of Science (MS) in Journalism from Columbia University in New York. He received his MD at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY and completed his Medical Residency in Family Practice at UCLA/Northridge Hospital and his Geriatric Fellowship at UCLA/Veteran’s Administration.

He was named the American Federation of Aging Research/John A. Hartford Geriatric Scholar by Harvard University in 1997, the International House Resident Fellow by Columbia University in 1992, and for his Journalism at Columbia received the Alfred I. DuPont Broadcast Fellowship.

Dr. Hamblin served as an Urgent Care Physician for Kaiser Permanente in 2004 and Greater Valley Medical Group from 2002-2004 both located in Van Nuys, CA. After relocating to Northern California, Dr. Hamblin served as Staff Physician to the Coastal Health Alliance (FQHC) in Point Reyes, CA from 2004-2010.

He has served as the Medical Director to both Beverly Manor Skilled Nursing Facility and Country Villa Skilled Nursing Facility in Petaluma, CA for numerous years and is currently the Medical Director to Pine Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility in San Rafael since 2009. Additionally, Dr. Hamblin has served as a Hospitalist at Sonoma Valley Hospital since 2007 and at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, CA beginning in 2011.

Dr. Colin Hamblin’s Family Physician/Geriatric practice is located at the West Marin Medical Center in Point Reyes, CA. He is a Board Member of West Marin Senior Services and an Emergency Medical Coordinator for the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. Dr. Hamblin has been a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) since 1999.

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Hume is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. She performed her Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Med at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Law and Society, and Spanish from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN.

Dr. Hume completed her Medical Internship at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA and her Medical Residency at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San Francisco, CA.

From 2005 to the present, Dr. Hume has been an Attending Physician at the San Francisco Free Clinic and from 2007-2008 was Health Sciences Clinical Instructor and Associate Professor Diplomate in the UCSF Department of Medicine.

From 2005-2007 she provided private practice coverage as a Locum Tenens Physician in San Francisco and Corte Madera and from 2007 until 2010 maintained a private practice in Larkspur, CA.

Dr. Elizabeth Hume received her Board Certification in Medicine in 2005. She is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Hume provides primary care and facility long term care medicine for Hampton Health, Ltd.

Alexis Nicole Guy, MMS, PA-C began her career with Hampton Health in 2005 as a medical assistant after graduating Summa cum laude from Boston University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

It was during her first few months with Hampton Health that she discovered a passion for medicine and decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant.

Before applying to Stanford, she attended UC Berkeley and spent two summers doing medical volunteer work with Child Family Health International, assisting physicians in the urban and rural settings of both South Africa and Northern India.

Alexis graduated with honors from the Primary Care Associate Program at Stanford University School of Medicine as a physician assistant in January 2010 and obtained her Master of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University. Additionally, Alexis holds a Certificate in Advanced Wound Debridement.

Along with her duties as Physician Assistant to Dr. John H. Fullerton, Alexis serves as a preceptor for physician assistant students from both Stanford and Samuel Merritt Universities.

In February of 2011 Alexis became Executive Vice President of Clinical Practice and Associate Clinical Director for Hampton Health, Ltd.

Yelena Kuznetsova, PA-C completed medical school at Moscow Medical Academy, one of the most prestigious medical schools in Russia. She completed her medical residency as a physician in Internal Medicine in 2000 and in that same year relocated to the United States.

After receiving authorization to work in the United States in 2004, Yelena worked as a medical assistant in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine. She was accepted into the Stanford School of Medicine Primary Care Associate Program in 2008 and completed her training as a certified physician assistant.

Yelena joined Hampton Health, Ltd. in 2010 and continues to practice her internal medicine skills as part of the Hampton Health medical team, providing primary and long term care to patients in some of the finest long term care facilities in Southern Marin.

Long Term Care Medicine

Clark Bishop, MMS, PA-C began his career in medicine in 1984 with the United States Navy where he was trained in general medicine principles at the United States Navy Hospital Corpsman School. He went on to spend the next ten years with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps in a variety of stations including the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and First Marine Corps Division in California.

In these capacities he delivered medical care directly to active duty and reserve personnel in primary, urgent and acute settings at locations around the world, including local communities in the Philippines, Thailand, Korea and Alaska. He received the United States Navy Achievement Medal for his efforts in training medical and non-medical personnel in topics including emergency and preventive care.

While continuing his military commitments, Clark graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1994 with a BS in Economics and a minor in Relational Database Design and Management. He pursued a career in software design and training for the next fifteen years, but continued to do volunteer and paid work in medical clinics in many communities, including geriatric care settings and skilled nursing facilities.

Clark was accepted into the Stanford School of Medicine Primary Care Program in 2008 and successfully completed his education and training as a Physician Assistant. He received his Masters in Medical Science degree from St. Francis University in 2009.

Clark now works as a physician assistant with medically underserved communities at the Valley Medical Center in San Jose and with geriatric populations within long term care facilities in Southern Marin on behalf of Hampton Health, Ltd.

Long Term Care Medicine

Katherine Sutherland, PA-C graduated from the Stanford University Primary Care Associate Program in January 2010.

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Kat worked at the Stanford Cancer Center for ten years running clinical trials for a rare type of skin cancer. During that time, she also volunteered at free primary care/women's care clinics in San Jose and Menlo Park.

Kat has worked as an EMT, phlebotomist, medical assistant, and health educator and received her BA in Sociology with a focus in HIV/AIDS education from San Francisco State University.

For Hampton Health, Ltd. she serves as a preceptor for physician assistant students from both Stanford and Samuel Merritt Universities.

Maura Devereux, MMS, PA-C has been with the Hampton Health team since graduating from the Stanford University Primary Care Associate Program in January of 2009.

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Maura worked in the Emergency Department at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco. In addition, she has been an emergency medical educator with the San Francisco Paramedic Association and has done First Responder medical training with the San Francisco Police Department.

Maura has a BS in Journalism and a BA in Humanities from the University of Colorado and a Master of Medical Science degree from Saint Francis University.

Bella Lui, PA-C joined the Hampton Health team in February of 2008 after having meet and worked with Dr. John Fullerton and Kate McElroy Fullerton, PA-C as a Medical Assistant at the San Francisco Free Clinic in 2003.

She graduated in 2007 from the Stanford Primary Care Associate Program and since then has been working as a Physician Assistant in the field of Gynecologic Oncology.

Bella has a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo and a Master of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University.

Ruth Berhe, LVN, DSD, WCC has spent fifteen years in nursing having begun as a certified nursing assistant/home health aide and later, as a licensed nurse.

She has functioned as the Director of Staff Development and Director of Education in skilled nursing facilities and performed all staff in-services and patient/family education.

Ruth is a Certified Wound Care Consultant with seven years experience in home, hospital and skilled nursing facility settings.

Her past employment history has included work in geriatrics, orthopedic post-operative care, skilled nursing facility care, home health nursing, hospice care and work with developmentally disabled children and adults.

In addition to serving as the Hampton Health Liaison to numerous long term care facilities throughout Southern Marin, Ruth Berhe is the Executive Vice President of Hampton at Home a division of Hampton Health, Ltd. providing medical services and personal care, as well as highly skilled wound care, within Assisted and Independent Living Communities and Home Care.

Ruth completed her training and clinicals at USC County Medical Center in Los Angeles in the East Los Angeles Occupational Nursing Program. She joined Hampton Health in December of 2008.

Nancy Higbie became a registered nurse in 1998 after receiving her nursing degree from the College of Marin, in Kentfield, CA.

She spent 1999-2010 at the skilled nursing facility, Greenbrae Care Center, serving in numerous positions including charge nurse, wound care nurse, Assistant DON (Director of Nursing), as well as Interim Director of Nursing, Case Manager and Nurse Educator.

On behalf of Hampton Health, Ltd. Nancy has served as the Director of Wellness for AgeSong Senior Communities of San Francisco in both their Laguna Grove and Hayes Valley locations.

Living in Marin County since 1969, Nancy not only knows Marin well, but believes in serving her geriatric community. She is trained and experienced in home health care, hospice and palliative care, and equally skilled in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

In February of 2010, due to her expertise in a broad spectrum of nursing, Nancy was named Co-Director of Hampton at Home, a division of Hampton Health, Ltd. providing medical services and highly skilled wound care to Assisted and Independent Living Communities and Home Care.

Victoria Mozaffari, LVN, RCFE received her degree as a licensed vocational nurse from City College of San Francisco in 2008.

Victoria is a Certified RCFE (Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly) Administrator and served as Director of Resident Services for Windchime of Marin, a community dedicated to memory care in Kentfield, CA, from November 2008 to January 2010.

At Windchime, Victoria oversaw all resident services, including managing care staff and medication technicians, conducting orientation and dementia training for new employees, performing as liaison to hospitals, community organizations and health agencies while acting as care manager to residents and their families.

Victoria joined Hampton Health, Ltd. in 2010 where she has assisted in the management of the San Francisco main offices as well as providing services as a phlebotomist (blood draw).

Elaine_Hausman Elaine Hausman

Executive Vice President of Marketing

Practice Liaison

Elaine Hausman came to Hampton Health, Ltd. with a rich and varied background. Elaine graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Theatre and went on to study at The Juilliard School Drama Division in New York City in 1971.

Elaine spent 18 years as a professional actress performing on Broadway, Off-Broadway, The Public Theatre and The Kennedy Center, as well as starring in roles on British and American television.

Although Elaine had the rare pleasure of coming out of retirement to appear as ‘Allegra Calderello’ on the hit FX television series Nip/Tuck in 2004 and again in 2009, Elaine left the field of acting in 1991 to pursue her interest in Advanced Accounting and continued her studies at UCLA.

Along with work that took her to the marketing research company LA Focus, supervising research studies and conducting hundreds of consumer interviews for such corporations as The Ford Motor Company and The Chrysler Corporation, Elaine also spent fourteen years as the Southern California Marketing Consultant for Aromatique™, one of the leading home fragrance companies in America.

Her years of marketing in a variety of fields brought her to Hampton Health, Ltd. in July of 2009 where she has had the privilege of learning first-hand all aspects of the Internal Medicine/Geriatric Specialty practice as she assumed the role of Marketing Director and Clinical Practice Liaison.

In February 2011 Elaine was honored to become Executive Vice President of Marketing and Practice Liaison.
